I am a freelance legal journalist, researcher and copywriter, based in Cardiff.
I have 20 years’ experience of writing for the legal sector.
During my time as a freelancer, I’ve worked for both UK and international clients. My articles have appeared in legal magazines as diverse as Asian Legal Business, The Lawyers Weekly (Canada), Top Legal International (Italy) and the Solicitors Journal (UK).
Because I hold two law degrees and a doctorate in law firm strategy, I am comfortable writing about both “black letter law” and also the “business of law”. However, I have a particular interest in writing about three specific topics – legal profession regulation, legal technology and the in-house legal market.
I mainly write for legal publishers, legal practices and law-related membership organisations. Publishing clients have included Chambers and Partners, The European Lawyer, LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell and NetLaw Media. My legal practice clients have included Baker McKenzie, CMS Cameron McKenna, Outer Temple Chambers, the (then) Nabarro Nathanson and TM Costings, a legal costs firm. My membership-based clients have included the Association of Costs Lawyers, the International Bar Association, LawNet, and the Professional Services Marketing Group.
Finally, I’ve worked on several projects with a strong academic flavour. In recent years, I’ve carried out research on behalf of England and Wales’ Legal Services Board, a consortium of universities, and the Office of Fair Trading.
